Trout Fishing in Gilgit-Baltistan

A 7-day fly and spin fishing trip for brown and rainbow trout: Kargah Nullah and the Singal stream near Gilgit, then Phander Lake and the Ghizer River.

About the Trout Fishing Trip

Pakistan offers diverse fishing opportunities, encompassing freshwater and marine environments. Inland fishing primarily targets species like Mahseer, Rohu, Singhara, and various carps, while marine fishing along the Arabian Sea coastincludes species such as Pomfret, Hilsa, Tuna, and Mackerel. In the northern regions, particularly Gilgit-Baltistan, cold-water fishing is prominent, with Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout being the most sought-after species. Fishing activities often require permits from the government, especially when using specific gear or fishing in designated areas. For instance, in Gilgit District, a District Seasonal license is mandatory for trout fishing, costing Rs. 5000 per season.
