Deosai Plains Jeep Safari
The Deosai Plains are 32 km south of Skardu. This plateau is the habitat of the greatly threatened Himalayan Brown Bear and many other wild animals. At an average elevation of 4 meters, Deosai is now a National Park and a protected area for wildlife. The rolling grassland here supports no trees or shrubs and the area is snow-covered for seven months of the year. Spring comes to Deosai in Yu gust when millions of wildflowers begin to bloom all over the lush green grassland. This is a time when Deosai looks like a paradise with a landscape full of wildflowers on green rolling hills and crystal clear water streams with snow-covered peaks in the background.

01: Arrival Islamabad
Arrival at airport and then transfer to hotel. Afternoon briefing with the expedition team and sightseeing tour in Islamabad including Faisal Mosque and Daman-e-Koh. Overnight stay in hotel at Islamabad.
Please Note:Gilgit Baltistan flights are subject to weather and backlog, in case of flight cancellation we will travel by road, and one night of Islamabad will be adjusted in overland travel.
02: Islamabad to Skardu (By Air)
Early morning flight to Skardu (flights are subject to weather). If unable to fly, depart for Skardu by road via Karakoram Highway with an overnight stay at Chilas. For flight arrivals, spend the afternoon visiting Skardu Bazaar and Kharpocho Fort. Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.
03: Chilas to Skardu (Overland) or Skardu Local Excursion
In case the flight operated on Day 2, take a relaxed day excursion to Sadpara Lake and the cold desert of Katpana. In case of no flight, complete the scenic overland journey from Chilas along the Indus River gorge to Skardu (total drive 22–24 hrs from Islamabad to Skardu). Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.
04: Skardu to Shigar Valley & Khaplu Excursion
Board 4x4 jeeps for an acclimatization day tour to the historic Shigar Valley and Khaplu. Explore the centuries-old Shigar Fort, Amburiq Mosque, and the Royal Khaplu Palace. Return to Skardu in the evening to finalize the safari expedition gear. Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.
05: Skardu to Deosai Plains (Sheosar Lake)
Board high-clearance 4x4 jeeps and begin the ascent to the Deosai National Park—the second-highest alpine plateau in the world at an average elevation of 4,114 meters. Drive past Sadpara Lake and the rugged mountain switchbacks onto the vast sweeping plains. Continue across the rolling wilderness to the crystal-clear Sheosar Lake, framed by panoramic views of Nanga Parbat. Overnight in camp (Tent).
06: Sheosar Lake to Bara Pani & Kala Pani
Embark on a full-day wildlife and landscape jeep safari across the heart of Deosai Plains. Cross crystal glacial streams at Kala Pani and Bara Pani via wooden bridges. Spend time scouting for Himalayan brown bears, golden marmots, and rare migratory birds across the endless alpine meadows. Enjoy a freshly prepared field lunch and an evening campfire under the stars. Overnight in camp (Tent).
07: Bara Pani to Astore Valley (Rama Meadows)
Cross the western boundary of the Deosai National Park via Chillum Chowki and descend into the lush green Astore Valley. Drive along dramatic river cuts and pine-forested slopes up to the serene Rama Meadows. Take an afternoon walk to Rama Lake with majestic views of the eastern ridge of Nanga Parbat. Overnight in camp / hotel at Rama.
08: Rama Meadows to Chilas / Besham
Leave the high valleys behind and descend to the Karakoram Highway via the Astore gorge. Drive south along the Indus River, stopping at the historic junction point of the three great mountain ranges (Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush). Continue the scenic drive to Chilas or Besham. Overnight stay in hotel.
09: Besham / Chilas to Islamabad
Complete the return road journey along the Karakoram Highway and Hazara Motorway back to Islamabad. Check in to the hotel for hot showers and relaxation. In the evening, gather for a traditional farewell dinner. Overnight stay in hotel at Islamabad.
10: Departure Islamabad
Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward journey or international return flight.
