Planning a Pakistan Trip from the Netherlands

What travellers based in the Netherlands should check before joining one of our trips in Pakistan.

Official travel advice to read first

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes travel advice (reisadvies) for Pakistan on Nederland Wereldwijd (nederlandwereldwijd.nl), using colour codes that can differ by region.

The ministry's travel app lets you follow the advice for Pakistan and receive updates while you are away.

Time difference

Pakistan Standard Time is UTC+5 with no daylight saving. Pakistan is 4 hours ahead of the Netherlands in winter and 3 hours ahead in summer.

Visas and Pakistan's mission

Pakistan's visas are applied for online through the Pakistan Online Visa System run by NADRA (visa.nadra.gov.pk). Which visa category applies to Dutch passport holders, and the current fee and processing time, can change, so check the portal and the Embassy of Pakistan in The Hague before you book flights.

Planning from the Netherlands

Check the colour code for every region on your route, not only for the country, because mountain areas and cities can be rated differently. Our programmes are described in English.

Where our trips start

Almost every programme starts and ends at Islamabad International Airport, so that is the airport to plan your flights around from the Netherlands. Two exceptions: the Indus civilisation tour starts in Karachi, and the camel safari starts in Bahawalpur.
