What to know about spring

  • The cherry blossom tour's published best time is mid to end March; blossom timing varies by altitude and year.
  • The Kalash spring festival, Chilimjushi, is listed for the middle of May.
  • High passes and the highest treks open later; most of our long treks start from June.
  • The Khunjerab Pass border crossing used to open only from April to November; Pakistan's Foreign Office announced year-round operation in December 2024. Snow and road conditions can still affect access, so confirm before an early-season trip.
